Frequency Response Method for Diffusivity Characterization of Propane in HZSM-5

Transient uptake curves for propane gas in a bed of HZSM-5 using volumetric frequency response setup (batch system) were obtained. Thereby, perturbation, such as change volume, was applied to the solid/gas system, and resulting pressure detected. Two cases mass transfer limitations (bed diffusion control micropore control) compared, it concluded that, presented case, is rate-determining process. The obtained coefficient was, on average, about 1.2 × 10−10 m2 g−1, which good agreement with other studies shown by literature data. homemade modeling this work serve basis ongoing numerical simulations.
